We are in the final stretches of our goal of 30,000 trees planted by our all-volunteer army! Note that the tree counter has been updated with the 162 trees we just planted in November. We now have 29,157 trees in the ground throughout Western New York.
We have 843 to plant to reach the goal we set just after the storm of October 12-13, 2006 destroyed 57,000 trees in the public areas of the Greater Buffalo area. With the match that each municipality has done (1 for 1), we now are at 58,314 trees planted.
Our recovery is nearly complete (it’s nice to have a few thousand trees as a cushion – not all trees we have planted make it 100%).

PLEASE don’t think we are done yet! Let’s get these 800+ trees done in the next two years. It will take more money to get there (we need about $100,000 more to buy the bare root trees)! We would love to get some donations and/or foundation gifts to reach this goal.
